AFTA Studios Launch Green and Gold Design in Celebration of the Matildas Ahead of the Asian Cup

AFTA Studios have launched Green and Gold, a limited collection created in support of the Matildas as Australia prepares to host the Women’s Asian Cup 2026. The release celebrates Australian women’s football through a dedicated, football-first design. Green and Gold is an independent AFTA Studios release available exclusively via the AFTA Studios website, offered as a pre-order only drop. Pre-orders are open now and close on 5th February at midnight GMT, representing AFTA Studios’ latest football-focused release.

When football meets fashion, it allows for a variety of unity and expression, allowing two creative worlds to collide. The ability to celebrate women’s football, and the Matildas, through clothing is an exciting and inspiring prospect. Thus, AFTA Studios has developed a design-focused collection for supporters of the Matildas ahead of the Women’s Asian Cup, scheduled to run from 1st March to 21st March.

The Women’s Asian Cup, held every four years, features national teams from the Asian Football Confederation and doubles as the final stage of Asian qualification for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil. Twelve teams will compete across five Australian venues, including China, India, Japan, Iran, and Uzbekistan. The 2022 champions were China, while Australia finished seventh.

Australia, winners of the tournament in 2010, have been seeded based on their previous performance and qualification rankings. In the group stage, they will face Japan and North Korea. The top two teams from each group, along with the two best third-placed sides, will advance to the quarterfinals.

The clothing available to champion the girls in green and gold, is named just that – the Green and Gold collection. The collection is available as a tee in black or white and a hoodie in black and yellow.

A player sticker pack, limited to 50 packs, is also included as part of the release.

The design features a signature AFTA Studios graphic on the back, highlighting key members of the Australian squad competing this March. Sam Kerr, Katrina Gorry, Mackenzie Arnold, Steph Catley, Caitlin Foord, and Ellie Carpenter are all represented within the artwork.

On top of that, Green and Gold marks a first for AFTA Studios, with increased attention given to garment detailing. Each piece will feature an AFTA Studios woven tag, alongside an ‘AUS’ woven tag positioned on the left chest – the magic is in the details.

Showcasing both talent and craftsmanship, the design also includes additions from First Nations artist Tiaan Shutt (@tiaanpaints), whose work ties meaning together, from inside the game outwards, as she highlights the importance of culture, community, and representation within Australian football.

Green and Gold is an independent release by AFTA Studios and is not officially licensed. The drop is available exclusively via the AFTA Studios website and is offered as a pre-order only release. Pre-orders are open now and will close on 5th February at midnight GMT. No additional stock is planned once the pre-order window ends.
