With just five weeks to go until the new Women’s Super League season kicks off, it’s safe to say this has been anything but a quiet transfer window. From blockbuster signings to emotional departures and surprise transfers, clubs across the league have been busy reshaping their squads ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.
We know it’s been difficult to keep up with everything that’s happened, so we’ve rounded up every completed signing from each WSL club so far to get you up to speed.
Arsenal
After narrowly finishing second behind Manchester City last season, Arsenal wasted no time preparing for another title challenge. However, before the campaign had even ended, the Gunners confirmed the departures of several key players, including Beth Mead, Laia Codina, Katie McCabe and Victoria Pelova.
Those exits left Arsenal with some huge shoes to fill, but the club have responded with one of the busiest transfer windows in the league.
New signings:

Aston Villa
Aston Villa also said goodbye to several familiar faces this summer. Lucy Staniforth and Ebony Salmon both departed following the expiry of their contracts, while striker Kirsty Hanson completed a move to Tottenham Hotspur.
New signings:

Birmingham City
Following promotion back to the WSL, Birmingham City faced a major rebuild, with 11 players reaching the end of their contracts.
New signings:

- Defender – Jade Rastocle (Montpellier)
- Goalkeeper – Katie Startup (Manchester City)
- Goalkeeper – Sophie Baggaley (Brighton & Hove Albion)
Brighton & Hove Albion
After an impressive campaign that saw them narrowly miss out to Manchester City in the FA Cup Final, Brighton appear determined to continue their upward trajectory.
New signings:
- Goalkeeper – Eleanor Heeps (Tottenham Hotspur)
- Forward – Nadia Krezyman (Dijon)
- Midfielder – Emilie Joramo (Hammarby)
- Midfielder – Sophie Peskett (Ipswich Town)
- Forward – Emily Murphy (Newcastle United)
- Midfielder – Lia Wälti (Juventus)
Charlton Athletic
Newly promoted Charlton Athletic have had a relatively quiet transfer window so far.
While five players have reached the end of their contracts, the Addicks have added one new face.
New signing:
- Midfielder – Paula Partido (London City Lionesses)
Chelsea
Chelsea’s six-year dominance came to an end last season, and the Blues have entered a new era with a significant squad overhaul.
Club captain Millie Bright announced her retirement, while Sam Kerr and Guro Reiten both left at the end of their contracts to join the NWSL. Johanna Rytting Kaneryd, Niamh Charles and Julia Bartel have also departed, although Chelsea have secured important contract extensions for Aggie Beever-Jones, Lucy Bronze and Sandy Baltimore.
One of the biggest talking points of the summer came early in the window, as Chelsea signed former Arsenal defender Katie McCabe.

Crystal Palace
Crystal Palace complete this season’s trio of promoted clubs and have balanced several contract renewals with a handful of departures, including Ruesha Littlejohn.

Everton
Everton have also undergone significant change this summer, with seven players leaving following the expiry of their contracts, while Kelly Gago completed a move to West Ham United.

Liverpool
Liverpool saw five players reach the end of their contracts following the conclusion of last season, including long-serving captain Gemma Bonner.

London City Lionesses
After earning promotion to the WSL at the end of the 2024/25 season, London City Lionesses have made it clear they’re not just here to make up the numbers. An impressive sixth-place finish in their first season in the top flight has laid the foundations for what could be an exciting future.
The Lionesses have been one of the busiest clubs this summer, with six players departing permanently, three heading out on loan and an incredible seven new arrivals. Their recruitment has certainly turned heads, with Ballon d’Or winner Alexia Putellas arriving from Barcelona and former England Lioness goalkeeper Mary Earps returning to the WSL from Paris Saint-Germain. Add in the signings of María León, Kadidiatou Diani, Nicole Anyomi and Rosa Kafaji, and it’s easy to see why London City are becoming one of the teams to watch this season.

With a squad packed with international quality, the question now is: can London City Lionesses build on last season’s impressive debut and challenge even higher up the WSL table?
Manchester City
After lifting the WSL title last season, Manchester City have enjoyed a comparatively quiet summer.
The champions have parted ways with two goalkeepers and seen club legend Laura Coombs retire, but they have still managed to secure two headline signings.
New signings:
- Forward – Beth Mead (Arsenal)
- Full-back – Niamh Charles (Chelsea)
The question now is whether City have more business to do before the window closes—and whether they have enough to retain their league crown.
Manchester United
Manchester United have perhaps been one of the more surprising clubs this summer.
Following the departures of Leah Galton and Hannah Blundell at the end of their contracts, United have also sold four players, including Millie Turner.
New signings:

Tottenham Hotspur
Tottenham have been among the busiest clubs in the WSL this summer, with eight players either departing permanently or reaching the end of their contracts. As a result, all eyes have been on the north London side to see how they would strengthen their squad—and their new additions have not disappointed.

West Ham have also had one of the busiest transfer windows in the division. With seven players departing, including captain Katrina Gorry, the Hammers have already completed nine signings.
